Established in 2015, Sword & Kettle Press is a tiny independent publishing house. Our mission is to publish inclusive feminist fantasy & speculative fiction and provide an encouraging space for emerging writers. We look for the weird & witchy & wild & whimsical things in our world & in worlds beyond.
We do not charge submission fees, and we pay writers for their work. Our publications are low-cost, and free whenever possible. We keep our communication lines open, and we're always open to feedback.
We seek out meaningful representation for voices & characters that have not been historically included in mainstream fantasy & speculative fiction. We look for writers with diverse perspectives: writers of color, women writers, queer writers, disabled writers, writers with different ethnic and religious and class backgrounds, writers of different ages.
We do it live. We give ourselves the space to keep growing and changing as a press, and challenge ourselves to keep publishing new and different work.
We support our writers throughout the publication process.
